About California High PTSA

The California High Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) was organized in 1983, and is a member of the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs, and the 32nd District PTA.   We strive to support and speak on behalf of all children and youth in our school and in our community. We promote opportunities for parents to address the needs of high school students and we foster a positive partnership between parents, teachers, students and the community.

The goals of the California High PTSA are:

  • foster communication and collaboration between home and school

  • support a welcoming and inclusive school community

  • encourage life-long learning and well-being for parents, students and staff

  • inform our parent community about legislation that benefits all children

The CHS PTSA is especially proud of the partnership we have developed with the staff.  Bear Facts, the Cal High weekly newsletter, is prepared and e-mailed to every family in the Cal High community by the PTSA. The PTSA will continue to keep parents informed about legislative issues that affect our children and schools.

We invite all California High School parents, students, and teachers to join and become involved in our PTSA. There are many opportunities to make a difference in our school and community!

All parents, staff, students and community members are encouraged to support the California High PTSA.

Thank you to Danielle Martinez, Betsy Horvath, Ross Dautel, the leadership students, and all of those who donated and volunteered to help gather toys for our sister school, Wilson Elementary.  You all helped make the holiday season brighter!

Thank you to Deana Leibowitz for another awesome Cal High Staff lunch.  Deana cooked chicken, carnitas, 2 types of beans, and rice for over 200 grizzly staffers.  Thank you to our volunteers for bringing sides/desserts, helping set up, serve, and clean up too.

Thank you to Melanie James for chairing the Reflections Committee and to Forzia Bawani for her assistance.  Melanie started promoting the Reflections art program last year and continued full force in order to encourage more participation in the arts.  She went above and beyond to celebrate the students and their creativity!
