Grad Night 2020

It is with deep regret that Grad Night 2020 will not be allowed due to State and County safety restrictions for Covid-19.

Refunds have been processed for those who purchased the Grad Night ticket [Note: This was a separate purchase and NOT part of the Senior Gold Package].  You should receive a check or credit card refund by May 15.  If you do not receive a refund for the Grad Night Ticket by the end of May, please contact

Cal High PTSA's Grad Night and Leadership are working together to find ways to celebrate our seniors separate from  ceremony plans from the school district.

  • We have purchased a lawn sign for every senior, and the Grad Night Committee will organize volunteers to post the signs the weekend of May 15.  The signs are for all Cal High 12th graders whether or not they already have a sign.
    • BY MAY 11:   ALL SENIORS (or parent/guardian) Click on Senior Lawn Signs to sign up for delivery or pick up of your lawn sign.
    • By May 11:  Click on  Volunteer to post lawn signs if you want to help post the signs during the weekend of May 15.
  • Cal High PTSA and DVHS PTSA plan to purchase and place lawn signs and banners throughout the city of San Ramon the last week in May.
  • Cal High Senior Class is also working on more ways with the school to recognize the Class of 2020.

About California High PTSA

The California High Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) was organized in 1983, and is a member of the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs, and the 32nd District PTA.   We strive to support and speak on behalf of all children and youth in our school and in our community. We promote opportunities for parents to address the needs of high school students and we foster a positive partnership between parents, teachers, students and the community.

The goals of the California High PTSA are:

  • foster communication and collaboration between home and school

  • support a welcoming and inclusive school community

  • encourage life-long learning and well-being for parents, students and staff

  • inform our parent community about legislation that benefits all children

The CHS PTSA is especially proud of the partnership we have developed with the staff.  Bear Facts, the Cal High weekly newsletter, is prepared and e-mailed to every family in the Cal High community by the PTSA. The PTSA will continue to keep parents informed about legislative issues that affect our children and schools.

We invite all California High School parents, students, and teachers to join and become involved in our PTSA. There are many opportunities to make a difference in our school and community!

All parents, staff, students and community members are encouraged to support the California High PTSA.

Thank you to Tim Lenahan for giving an informative presentation on "How to Pay for College."  It helped may families start planning how to find the colleges with the right "financial" fit for their budgets.

Thank you to Heather Vaughn and Rinku Thakur, our PTSA Inclusion and Diversity Committee, for partnering with the school, leadership, and No Place for Hate to create the Cal Cares/Words Matter Week.  Thank you for spreading positivity to our school community.

Thank you Sarah Eddings for presenting the School-Wide Intervention Program at our February PTSA meeting.  Your work to develop interventions for general education is a much needed resource for many Cal High students

Thank you to Jack Estes, a SRV High School Senior, for providing "Behind the Fine" student panel.  His topic of what it is like to be a teen today and the pressures they face helped open up understanding and discussion among parents and teens.
